Hampton 's "Airs for Solo Celtic Harp" is entirely composed of traditional pieces. Turlough O'Carolan, the great Irish harper, is represented by four tunes, including the opening charmer "Planxty Fanny Poer," an ode that elegantly folds back on itself again and again, and the more frequently performed "Blind Mary." Because Hampton can make even the most shopworn melodies sparkle, as her arrangements of "She Moved Through the Fair" and "Carrickfergus" attest, all the melodies here, familiar or not, ultimately contribute to a compilation as seamless as it is sublime. -- Mike Joyce, The Washington Post
